‘Mikey' Dillon Caropreso

Sonora resident Michael "Mikey" Dillon Caropreso died June 19 at an Oakland hospital following a drowning accident at New Melones Lake. He was 4.

Michael was born in Sonora and lived here all of his life. He attended the Head Start program in Jamestown. He enjoyed playing with trucks and riding his dirt bike. He loved boating and knee boarding and going fast. He always wore his shoes on the wrong foot or went barefoot.

He is survived by his parents, Mike and Kim Caropreso, of Sonora; sister, Emily Caropreso, of Sonora; grandparents, Floyd and Tammy Crow, of Tuolumne, Mike and Jojo Caropreso, of Long Barn, and Dawn Caropreso of Grants Pass, Ore.; great-grandparents, Patricia Daly, of Grants Pass, and Bo and Beverly Maddox, of Los Banos; several aunts and uncles including, Angie Huba, of Seattle, Wash., Floyd Crow, of Tuolumne, and Ryan Caropreso, of Grants Pass.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home. The family requests that everyone dress casually, no formal black attire. A celebration of life and potluck will follow at 2 p.m. at Tuolumne Veterans Memorial Hall.
