Dorothy Mae Goff

Longtime Long Barn resident Dorothy Mae Goff died Wednesday at a Sonora hospital. She was 89.

She was born in Nebraska and had lived in Long Barn for 30 years. She worked as a landscaping contractor for 20 years in Hollister, where she and her husband were also apricot ranchers for many years.

She enjoyed gardening, quilting and sewing.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shirlene and Bill Caston, of San Jose; grandchildren, Diane Kandi Legg, of Oregon, Keith Borges, of Texas, and Casey Caston, of California; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and sisters, Violet Carter, of Los Banos, and Helen Price, of Hollister.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Goff, in 1999.

No services are planned. Private burial was held at Mountain Shadow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to cancer research.

Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
