CHARLES EUGENE ASTON

Charles E. Aston, age 63, left this world to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 2, 2010, after a short yet valiant battle with cancer. Charles was born on June 27, 1946, in Modesto, Ca. to Eugene and Norma Aston. He graduated from Exeter High School class of 1964. After a successful college football career at the College of the Sequoias in Visalia and later Weber State, Utah he signed a contract to play with the New Orleans Saints. A brief preseason in the NFL convinced Charles that being the first in his family to graduate from college was the best plan for the future. In 1968 he returned to Fresno State University and acquired a Bachelor's of Science in Criminology, Correctional Counseling. His family wrote: "Charles loved his family more than the world itself and spending time with his grandchildren was his favorite pastime. Charles also enjoyed sharing life stories with everyone he met; to know him was to love him. He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him." Mr. Aston was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Aston; and father, Eugene Aston. He is survived by his heroine and mother, Norma Aston; sisters, Marilyn Dearnley and Joyce Rose; Joyce Miller Aston, his wife and the love of his life; son, Dennis Aston, and his wife Kristy, and their three children: son, David Aston and his wife Ximena Santiestevan, and their son.
